About Nan Xiang Express - Raleigh, NC
Nan Xiang Express is your neighborhood go-to dim sum spot. Our sister restaurant Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao first opened in 2006 in NYC and immediately made the Michelin Guide for nine years straight. With the same level of quality, craft, and dedication that makes our soup dumplings world-famous, Nan Xiang Express is on a mission to bring the best soup dumplings and Shanghainese comfort food to every neighborhood in the US.
Nan Xiang Express - Raleigh, NC is a shanghainese in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is listed at 3000 Hillsborough St, Raleigh, NC 27607, which places it among the local businesses of Raleigh that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Raleigh; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in North Carolina are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. The most common schedule is 11 amβ10 pm. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. Raleigh is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Raleigh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Located near NC State, parking can be a bit challenging, but itβs worth the visit. The outdoor seating area features a huge TV, making it a great spot for game nights. The food was delicious! I highly recommend the sesame chicken, veggie rolls, braised beef noodle soup, and the bottom bunsβevery one of those dishes was amazing. The staff was also incredibly friendly and welcoming. My only 2 concerns were that each table had Kleenex wipes instead of napkins plus my food was a cold upon arrival .If these issues were fixed it would have made for a better dining experience.

Quick yet flavorful food. You go in..order your food on these huge screens. Take a number (i got my favorite one) and find a spot. I ran to the restroom , which were crazy clean and their mirror was fire, and by the time I was back my cucumbers were waiting for me. I got the Chicken soup dumplings, shrimp fried rice, cucumbers and an everything fruit tea with passion fruit popping boba! Yall ... this food is meant to be shared. I paid 50 for all of this but this was a feast. I had so much to take home. Needless to say I can not wait to go back. And the dumplings had so much soup inside.

Our trip here was very spare of the moment. We arrive not long after the restaurant opened. Very clean and relaxing atmosphere. Staff was very pleasant and nice. The food was fresh and hot with large portion sizes. They gave us a mini world cup magnet for being the first customer of the day <3. Loved it! Overall we really enjoyed our visit and highly recommend everyone to visit and eat here. Thank you for having us!!!!!

Great soup dumplings and cucumber salad. We ordered a lot of dishes and enjoyed all of them except the beef soup dumplings which were just ok. Can't wait to go back many times.

We really enjoyed our first visit to Nan Xiang Express in Raleigh, North Carolina this week. We had first dined at the Durham location last month, and so we were excited to try the brand-new location that just opened in Raleigh. Itβs bright and airy when you walk in. Ordering was done at the front kiosks, and from that point on the service was excellent. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout, with plenty of smiling faces that made the experience even more enjoyable. The friendly staff is quite noticeable and I suspect this is the result of a very good training program. Good for them! We sampled a nice cross-section of the menu, including Wonton Soup, Pork Siu Mai, Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, and of course the Nan Xiang Signature Pork Soup Dumplings (see photos). Every dish was flavorful and well prepared, with the soup dumplings easily stealing the show. We had recently returned from New York City, where we enjoyed soup dumplings at one of the most famous spots around, so our expectations were high. Impressively, the dumplings here at Nan Xiang Express β right in North Carolina β were every bit as satisfying. Weβre very much looking forward to coming back to explor
